In fact, we thought we’d dig through our collection to find some fun meals you can prepare that the whole family will love, especially the kids!

Grilled cheese roll ups. Who doesn’t love a good grilled cheese! But while the classic is always a sure bet, this fun alternative is also sure to please! Simply sub some flatbread for the usual sandwich bread and let the kids roll them up to make their delicious dinner treats. Grill the roll ups the same way you would your grilled cheese sandwiches and family dinner is bound to be a blast.

Meatloaf cupcakes. Wouldn’t the kids love having dessert for dinner? Well, that may not be the most nutritious choice, but that doesn’t mean dinner can’t at least look like dessert! Next meatloaf night, turn that boring old meatloaf into something fun by making meatloaf cupcakes. Simply bake your meatloaf in muffin tins, then the kids can take over and start decorating from there with mashed potato “frosting” and pea “sprinkles”.

And of course, don’t forget that while you’re making dinner with the kids you can have an audiobook or some music playing to make the night extra fun!

Story Stones: Fun for the Whole Family

It’s no secret, the pandemic has presented a whole lot of challenges for families. With some kids in school, some kids out of school, all while some parents are still heading into the office while others are working from home, it’s brought a whole new level of complexity to childcare, especially when it comes to keeping the kids entertained! With that in mind, the team here at Readgrad thought we'd suggest a fun way to keep the kids entertained, and activity that parents might love too; story stones!

Don’t worry if you’ve never heard about story stones, we’re happy to tell you all about them. For starters, the activity starts with something the kids may already love doing, hunting for rocks! Rock hunting is a fun activity for kid and adult alike, and it’s a great way to get outside when many places might be closed. Bundle up since the cold is coming, get outside, and find the most interesting rocks around!

And of course, the fun doesn’t have to stop once you get home! Give the rocks a quick rinse and once they’re dry, it’s time to break out the paint! With each painted rock make up a little story with the kids, perhaps make them characters in a play or paint the story of where they were found, the only limit is your imagination!
